After reading a post, you can take several actions to interact with it:
- Provide a comment: share your opinion or recommendation on the topic.
- Vote on a poll: participate in the post’s poll, if available (Note: some posts may not include a poll).
- Like the post: show your appreciation and help determine its value to the community.
- Save the post: bookmark it to stay updated with the ongoing conversation.
- Share the post: forward it to other Sermo members to expand the discussion.
Add comments
Once you’ve read the post and other members’ comments, you can contribute by adding your own insights or asking follow-up questions. Simply click into the post and start typing in the comment box. You can also include images, PDFs, and emojis to enhance your comment. When you’re ready, click the Comment button to share your thoughts.
View replies to your comments
You can see replies to your comments by visiting the “Notifications” section on the homepage.
The Notifications (bell) icon on your Sermo homepage is divided into two sections:
- General: displays notifications related to your activity on Sermo.
- Saved Posts: shows new comments on posts you’ve saved.
Clicking on a notification within the Saved Posts tab will take you directly to any new comments within the post, which will be highlighted in purple. The number next to the notification indicates how many new comments are available.
Vote on a poll within a post
In some posts, you’ll find a poll question. You can select one of the available answers—or multiple answers if it’s a "Check all that apply" poll.
Voting results are displayed immediately. If you don’t have an opinion to share, you can click "See Results" to view the stats and gain insights on the topic.
Save a post
Saving a post is an easy way to keep updated on posts that you find interesting.
Posts are saved automatically when you interact with them (liking, commenting, etc.). You can also save or unsave a post without interacting by clicking on the overflow menu (three dots at the top-right of the post) and selecting 'Save/Unsave Post.'
A flag will appear at the bottom right side of posts once they're saved. You can also ”like” a post by easily clicking on the heart symbol.
You can see all your saved posts and comments in your profile. On mobile, you can find this by clicking on the Overview drop down.
On desktop, it will appear on the left hand side of your profile page.
How to share a post?
Share a post with members by using the "Copy Link" feature in the expanded version of a post. Just click "Copy Link" and paste the link wherever you would like to share it.
You can also do this right on the feed, without going into the full post, by clicking on the overflow menu (three dots at the top-right of the post) and selecting “Copy link to post”.
