Getting started with Sermo Mobile

- Log in to your Sermo account.
- Locate the Sermo Mobile icon in the navigation menu.

Tip: Ensure your device has either a cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi signal, as these are required to make calls.
Step 2: Set up your caller ID
To unlock the Sermo Mobile dialer and start making calls, complete two quick steps:
1. Set up caller ID
- Enter your office phone number to display to patients when making calls. This ensures patients recognize the call as legitimate and are more likely to answer.
- Select a name for the number, for example: ‘Office Number’ or ‘Hospital number’ so you can easily identify the number you choose to display to patients.
- Note: The name will not be visible to patients, only the number.
- Only real phone numbers are accepted (area code and prefix must be valid).
- You can set up multiple Caller IDs (e.g., one for your hospital and another for your private practice) and choose a default number.
Note: Your personal phone number remains private and will never be visible to patients.
2. Allow microphone access
- Grant microphone permissions to your browser or mobile app when prompted.
- If you mistakenly deny access, you’ll need to adjust your device or browser settings manually.
Tip: Confirm your audio is working before your call:
- Click “Test call audio” on the call screen below the dialer, this will take you to your settings.
- Click ‘Test Speaker” and “Test mic” buttons to ensure audio is working.
To ensure the best audio experience, please note:
- With headphones or earbuds connected, your call will automatically use them for both speaker and microphone.
- Without headphones or earbuds, your call will default to speakerphone, and it won’t be possible to change it once the call begins. If you’re using a mobile device, please keep this in mind.

Step 3: Make calls with Sermo Mobile
- Navigate to the Make a call screen and dial the patient's number.
- Use the Call button, which only activates after entering a complete phone number.
Step 5: Use the Notes feature (optional)
- Once the number is successfully dialed, a Notes section will appear in the dialer where you can temporarily store patient call notes directly in Sermo Mobile.
- Add a secure PIN to access or save your notes. Notes are automatically deleted after 8 days to protect patient privacy.
- If you prefer not to use this feature, you can disable it entirely through the Settings menu.
- Within the Call Notes section of your settings, turn the toggle off next to ‘Call notes’
Keep in mind:
If you’re traveling or working remotely, Sermo Mobile still has you covered:
- Calls are limited to patients within your home country.
- International users can still use the app to contact patients in their home country without disruption.
Tip: For seamless communication, double-check that your Caller ID matches your practice’s location.
